Where it all started

   In 2016 a well known sales rep from Seon, Dean August stopped by the Yankee Communications shop and explained the potential of the industry and the need for a more dedicated business strategy. The owner of Yankee communications, Rusty Bell and the staff had a company meeting where they decided that, there needed to be one guy dedicated to serving the needs of the transportation side of the industry.  It was then that Rusty's son in-law Matt Nielsen began building and creating the infrastructure that was Yankee T.I.D.  

   As Yankee T.I.D Began an identity of its own, they saw the need for solutions in the industry, beyond the basic installations. At Yankee T.I.D they saw that their customers had an important Job and could use help with fleet auditing and a trusted solution. As Yankee T.I.D grew it had taken on a life of its own. The needs of the industry had grown Yankee T.I.D from a branch at Yankee Communications to its own fully functioning business.

  In 2024 Matt and his staff broke from Yankee Communications and started their very own company that is dedicated to "Taking care of the service and letting the rest take care of itself. Many people ask "Why Citadel for the name"? The definition of citadel is  "a fortress, typically one on high ground above a city, their to protect the city" At Citadel technology we take great pride in helping our customers who are the citadel of their organization, protect their greatest assets. In 2025 Citadel Tech took over the business complex at 56 Albion Rd, Benton ME and continues to serve their customers in Maine and New England.
